Wiseman is part of the 2023 series of tribal masks mounted on wood. I developed my artistry upon seeing African artwork at the Smithsonian Museum of African Art, which inspired me.
Measuring 4.5” x 8 x 1 and weighing 1.13 lbs, Wiseman features a cheerful expression and cocoa brown face. His intricate design consists of over 20 handmade raku-fired beads and 60 feet of 16 and 24-gauge twisted wire as hair. It took over two weeks to finish it, and it can be positioned indoors or outdoors.
