I was inspired to create Petra upon visiting the Smithsonian Museum of African Art, where I saw authentic African artwork. I spent many hours diligently crafting Petra, resulting in a 9" x 12" painted canvas mask with over 40 feet of 16 gauge wire for hair and more than 50 raku beads. Her face features a rust brown and amber crackle design, with rust brown lips. Petra is now ready to be hung.
