I was inspired to begin creating art after seeing the beautiful, authentic African artwork on display at the Smithsonian Museum of African Art. I was mesmerized. Erica was born out of this experience. Mounted on an 8"x 8" painted canvas, I spent four hours or more styling her hair and attaching her beads, which total over 40 feet of 16 gauge wire and 50 raku beads, creating a white and honey brown face with rust brown lips.
